Eclipse - A vert made in tinkercad?

I’ll be happy to take you on the whiteboard offer. I’m hoping for plenty too, need to get some testing in few new bots and ofc Vanquish.

See you then, cant wait to get destroyed by DWI in the main tournament

:joy: will see! I am trying to think of GRoCS 6 as more of a fluke (only joking) there are still updates to be made on DWI which I will post about soon on its topic. Don’t actually think I got to fight vanquish at GRoCS 6 sadly (well, I say sadly, I probably would not be very ok after a fight with it).

For sure we can do a whiteboard, can’t wait!

did some testing today, some good news and bad news

good news: it stopped spinning down by itself, yay!

uhhh, it hit stuff?

bad news: its still vibrating, loud like, really loud. sometimes the volume is normal, but then I spin up, or move a bit and it gets really angy.

the bit holding the weapon motor is slowly bending. how do you guys support your verts on the non motor side?

please help, I’m getting very stressed about having to get this done before Saturday :frowning:

If it’s not supported on both sides that’s 100% your issue, as the weapon is trying to twist your upright and give you some wobble. A 5mm prop shaft adapter and a flanged bearing is what people use to support the other side. Same system on Vanquish but my motor has a built in 5mm shaft.

Could you send some decent photos of the current weapon stack?

Also dont worry to bad about getting it ready before saturday, there is always next GROCS. If it’s in any consolation my bots are in pieces with a new ambitious one still having its CAD being not finished

Slowly bending…

Also designed this little thing, but I’m not sure it’s much help:

can’t be bothered to screw it on right now.

Is there any chance I could see some example setups for the non motor side setup please?

Genuinely, a bearing in that little mount you already have designed would cure your issues.

That’s bending purely because of the load. Simple leverage that you have a hung far out, and it’s a very angry, very fast weight that smacks things so all the force from the weapon goes into that bulkhead too.

Literally just this, simple as. I use 8mm OD 5 ID flanged bearings, they do need to be flanged so they dont come out. 8mm hole in your bearing upright, get some bearings and you should be golden. These are the ones I use on all my spinners so they should last you. Make sure to change to the right size though, I’ve done that once or twice…

Will see you at the event
