1.5kg beetleweights, focussed on new bots and new builders for another hopefully sunny day of bot fighting at our favourite brewery.

Priority sign ups open 1st April at 7pm. To be eligible, your entry must meet just one of these criteria:

  • New Builder: If this is your first, second, or third beetleweight competition, you qualify, even if you’ve competed with the same robot before. Your robot should not be a loan or maintained by someone else.
  • New Robot: Your entry must use a weapon type you haven’t competed with since 2022 or earlier. For example, if you used a drum in 2023, you can’t enter another drum, or similar - unless you qualify as a new builder. You can see this event’s weapon classifications at the bottom of the post.
  • Legacy Robot: Bring back a robot that you haven’t competed with since 2022 or earlier, or build a new version of it!

All priority entries are subject to approval. BBB will respond within 24 hours if you’re successful or if we need more info. If slots remain after one week, they’ll open up via a 1-hour lottery on 8th April. £15 entry fee, proof of mobility by 10th May.

Didn’t get in? Don’t worry - our Summer Showdown Pub Beetles returns on 18th July, with sign ups opening shortly after New Blood.
