For those familiar with our events, this is very similar to what Summer Showdown has been the last few years. For those not, it’s our annual event focusing on the best new beetleweights and builders there are. On 1st April at 7pm, we’ll open our Priority Signups. To be eligible, you need to meet just 1 of our 3 criteria:
1 - Enter a new bot! Something that has never fought before. This cannot be a new version of an old bot, or a renamed old bot (play nice!)
2- Be a new builder! To allow a little leeway on this, you can have competed in 1-2 beetleweight events prior to this one. If this will be your first, second or third beetle event, you’re in!
3 - For the first time, we’re allowing priority entry for returning builders. We know some of you that haven’t competed in a few years would like to find a good excuse to rejoin the fray… here it is! If you haven’t competed in beetleweights since 2022 or before, you’re good.
These slots are available via approval and the team will be in touch via email within 24 hours if you are successful or if they need any more information. If any slots remain after 1 week, we will open these up on a 1-hour lottery basis for anyone else on the 8th April.
Remember if you don’t make it, our Summer Showdown Pub Beetles event will be less than two months later, on 12th July. You can expect signups for this shortly after the New Blood event.

Thank you for all the interest! It’s lovely to see so many new bots and new builders! The main slots in the competition are now full - a reminder to pay your entrance fee within 24 hours to confirm your slot or we may have to give it to a reserve.
We have a few reserve priority slots remaining if you’re still interested in competing - sign up at bbb.gd/newblood and in the likely case of drop outs, you’ll get a slot in the competition. We do not expect to open up the sign ups to lottery next week now.
