A proper introduction and my first 150g Ant!

Hi everyone!
After only some years of snooping around I’m finally writing my first post.
I’m an animatronic designer from Rome and for 2 years now I’m trying to bring robot fighting here in Italy with the Robot Arena Challenge project!
I’ve already built a couple of 175g plastic ants (our educational weight class), Sphiga and Lingua “Tongue”, and a 300g destructive something (for a competition in northern Italy with a non-standard class) called Pepe “Pepper”.

But finally I can show you my first proper 150g ant, La Cosa “The Thing”!
It uses a Malenki, 2 N10 600rpm, a brushless ESC for the 1806 motor that spin the awesome blade made by Team Croc!.
Then a 2S 180mAh battery, a TPU body, ASA retainers and top plates and a pinch of steel in the front. A bunch of googly eyes to max weight…

It performed well at our first ever destructive tournament in Rome on the 26th of October, taking home the 2nd place trophy!

I’ve already decided to change something for the next event and I promise I’ll keep you posted but…do you like The Thing?

What a great collection of bots - always fascinating to see what’s happening in other scenes around Europe.

Hope the Italian scene takes off and sees more uptake!
