Maybe a bit off topic but is this a suitable locking bar?
The bar bit is solid pla plus and it has a sign reading ‘remove before battle’ connected using a paper clip

Sure, why not? I use a nail with a red zip tie.
So there is now good news, and, well, relatively bad news…
The titanium disc came and looks great:
But I managed to over file it so it is now too loose on the motor.
I have ordered two more and now just have to pray they come in time for GRoCS.
How loose is it? Could you use, say, a strip of pop can as a shim to get it back into spec?
Try using some JB Weld to affix it to the motor bell.
The new discs got dispatched today, estimated delivery date is the 30th. GRoCS is the 28th. Flip. I will try Joe’s suggestion as I can’t get the JB weld to arrive in time.
If anyone going to GRoCS and has a 46mm approx diameter weapon disc press fit around motor can if you would be able to lend me it that would be amazing.
Thanks all,
Hollis
I’ll be going and have some 5 min JB weld you could use, although the bond would be weaker than if you had more time to let it set, but another strategy could be to 3d print a TPU collet (am I spelling that right?) which would hold the blade to the motor. Downside is that you would need to then both make the distance between the weapon supports wider and the fit of the blade even looser. I have attached images of what an example of this kind of collet looks like. The idea is that the collet is somewhat undersized for the motor bell diameter so when you tighten it on to the motor, the collet grips the weapon and prevents it from being pulled off
What’s the difference in diameter? Is it just a little loose or is it rattling around in there?
You should be able to get JB weld (or 10h araldite or other equivalent epoxy) at any good hardware shop.
Just a little loose but tried putting on with green loctite and kept falling off pretty easily. I might try and convince my dad to take me to B&Q to get some JB weld tonight.
As for phoenix, I don’t think I have the time, nor design capability to make one of those. Thanks for the offer with your JB. If I can’t get any before the event, if you could lend me some that would be great.
Thanks everyone,
Hollis
If you can get the long cure stuff it’s significantly stronger than the quick stuff, but if it’s all they have then the quick stuff will do the job.
To help it stay on and centred while the glue cures you’ll probably need some kind of shim between the disc and the motor - a strip of printer paper or two might be all it needs.
