Bite Size P.I.T.A. and Friends - Antweight Buildlogs

Hi All,

Well I said in my beetleweight buildlog that ants would be in the works and here they are.

Introducing Bite Size P.I.T.A. (Left) and A Spoonful of H.U.M.M.U.S. (Right).

So while still waiting for some parts and to properly get working on my beetlweight concepts P.I.T.A. and H.U.M.M.U.S. I decided to throw my self into the deep end of antweights and go for full builds on these two designs I’d been working on while away at work.

Both were designed to have commonality electronically, just to make my life a bit simpler. Both run: Redcon cm410x micro recievers, N10 600rpm with Robson Red ESC’s and a pair of GNB 300mah 1s LiHV (probably overkill but why not). Both are TPU chassis with other printed part being Supertough PLA.

Differences are Bite Size P.I.T.A. is running a 20a Unmanned Tech Chaos ESC and 1806 motor powering the Monsoon Brawler and A Spoonful of H.U.M.M.U.S. running C507 servo for the flipper (thanks to Jordan and Project SVRN for the inspiration there)

Bite Size P.I.T.A. suprisingly weighed in at 145g, my predictions had it being marginally overweight so a happy surprise there and A Spoonful of H.U.M.M.U.S. is weighing in at 129g a bit of weight to gain there potentially.

Can’t wait to get these two competing in the arena soon and see how they perform, need to just figure out when that will be. Expecting to make some updates once they do.

Hoping to make it to the Antweight Social on the 20th as a spectator so anyone going I’ll see you there and try to say hi.

Thanks for reading my crazy little ant adventure

A couple of minor modifications and a little paint, and A Spoonful of H.U.M.M.U.S. is ready to compete on Saturday.

No major changes since the initial post, just some small mods to help with durability and improve self righting. Really it’s just time to put it in to the arena and see what happens.

As a first time competitor I have one question that I think is interesting and want to throw out to you all. Are there any tips or things you wish you’d have known before competing for the first time?

Looking forward to Saturday, meeting you all properly and seeing how this little bot does.
