Hi folks! I’m mechatronics engineer with a decade in industry and a specialisation in electronics. When it comes to my robots I like to lean into my strengths and make integrating custom electronics a big feature in my designs, to the point where I don’t think many of my ideas would be possible without. I have also noticed that very few other folks take this approach, and to be honest I think they’re missing out a little bit!
I am currently working as an independent contractor, and also developing some personal products, so I’m open to taking on some additional robot work on the side. Whether you have an idea for a robot but it needs an unusual drive or weapon control scheme, or you’re a retailer selling robot parts and are interested in some custom product development, feel free to send me a message and I may well be able to help. I am happy to offer reduced rates for individuals and work destined for open source release.
Most of my professional work is locked away behind an NDA, but if you’re really interested I think I can dig out some promo material it features in the background of. Otherwise, check out my build threads (which I think you can access quickly via clicking my username), and take a look at some photos of some personal stuff (mostly robot related) below. Fatal Deviation also has its own github repository which can be downloaded to view the PCB and firmware source files: GitHub - JoeEarlam/Fatal-Deviation: 1.5kg beetleweight combat robot
