I have appeared again after quite a while of forgetting this website existed (honest). Over the span of the year i have been working on a new design for an absolutely tiny horizontal, same structure in terms of material as TombPebble, but far more competitive and proportionally looks like a baby wielding a scythe. also designed a new 85mm dia single tooth titanium disc, directly mounted onto a beefy be1806 bell (a significant upgrade compared to the 2204)
Now printing the second prototype of course in my TPU 64d (first was a test fit in pla).Will test fit again and if all goes well I will also print the Top and bottom plates this evening!
I don’t know what It is about my designs but it seems as if there’s a issue regarding antweight sizing. I’ve seen loads of other designs and they are all reasonably withing the size limit-as for me, all of my bots with spinning parts and weapons are all miniscule-only enough wiggle room and space for wires and my lipo.This time, my design is about the same size as TombPebble’s chassis without the weird triangle bit at the back, but even smaller as it doesnt have the trianlgle thing at the back to boost its length. Is this just me or am i designing wrong? or maybe its just that this time I have a massive weapon and weapon motor to slap onto the bot. I’d like to know what I could do better and if i’m doing anything wrong (I fell like I am, just cant put a finger on it). The current bot chassis perfectly fits in a rectangle of dimensions 60mm by70mm (including the anti-stuck back rollers/shocks). Absolutely tiny, considering i am also using an extremely large diameter single tooth weapon for an antweight (85mm).
pa6 cf still refuses to print-has dried at 70c for more than 48 hours, still during the first layer is lumpy with ridges along print lines and some segments refuse to extrude. will try again tomorrow.
finally managed to print off the nylon plates and they are a bit gritty but nothing to worry about. will be printing off more but currently these fit fine, used 5 walls for perimieter top and bottom so they shouyld be sturdy! Motor fits well onto the mount and currently no issues yet.
I have upgraded my electronics with a pre programmed BBB weapon esc (no more faffing about)! This should help with a faster spin up speed and stop my transmitter from messing with the esc. I hope it arrives soon bc I’ll have to wait until it comes for me to do the electronics…
