I’m creating a US antweight lifter, (454 grams) but I want it to be more of a flipper than a lifter. As such, I’ve decided to use a servo intended for beetleweights… and there lies the problem. Having never built a lifter before, I’m not sure what to look for in a servo. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! (One day, I’ll actually make a dedicated thread for my builds haha)
I’m about to build a beetle myself so I don’t have too much experience but I reckon that the one recommended on the bbb parts list is good as a starting point.
In general though, I’d look for a servo with metal gears and that has enough torque for your application.
To find out how much torque you’ll need see here.
I ended up using this on MotherLoaders little 4 bar flicker. Basically because I wanted to run 4s for extra spice. 12v servos are plentiful so if you’re only running 3s you’ll open up options
Money Money but they are cheaper now than when I bought them. Boo.
thanks guys! this was really helpful!
