Screw Identification

Hello all! I once again need assistance. I have a kit bot from Nuts & Bots and have been struggling to find out what kind of screws are used to keep the chassis lid and the TPU armor wrap in place. I’ve circled them in red here:

I have searched high and low for these screws but can not for the life of me find a place that sells them. If someone could help I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi, Those screws appear to be Pozi drive flanged (either button or pan head) screws. I can only find that head type as self tapping screws (like wood screws or plastite screws) which should be what you are looking for as those screw into plastic.

Not sure what diameter or length. From the scale if it is an imperial size (they seem more common) then it is likely a 2.9mm thread (also called a No.4). If you have the kit already probably best to measure the current screws. Link to some with multiple length options. If the screws are a really funky size you can also use Accu’s self tapping screws for plastic but they are more expensive so probably not a good idea unless you have to.

Already have the kit so I took a closer look at one of the screws. The thread has a flat tip rather than a pointed one so I’m guessing N&B either removes the points themselves or more likely they buy them from Accu.

Thanks for the help!

Hello!

They are from Accu, SPBF30-3-8-A2 3mm polyfix flanged button head screws.

Not the cheapest but I like them as they thread nicely, strong, flange head (no washer to lose), flat point (The point is kinda wasted thread if you’re not actually self tapping).

3mm as the 2mm I used to use for polycarb armour just felt a little unsupported and vulnerable in TPU armour.

Ahhh thanks for confirming, Alex!
