Antweight Bot Kit

A while back I promised to share the kit of parts I’ve used to run a couple of antweight-ish robot building workshops.

If I got the permissions right you can find all the parts in here:

Bot Kit Google Drive

Printable parts are exported as 3MF for slicing. Laser cut parts are DXFs - I used 3mm MDF and 0.5mm polypropylene.

There’s also a Fusion Archive for most of the bits which will probably be useful if you need to tweak tolerance on the holes or adjust for different models of servo. Some of the lasered bits were designed in QCAD so the DXF is the source file.

It’s all designed to be held together with M2 self tapping screws to keep things simple. I’d recommend providing some 2mm (or just over) drills for making clearance holes - ideally in a pin vice, cable ties for strapping motors in, and some 0.5mm or so craft wire for making linkages and long pivots.

Hope someone finds this useful.

This is really cool! Thanks for sharing. Ooc what are you using for internals?

Internals for this are a BBB Dual ESC, Two N10s or N20s, and a FlySky receiver.

For the workshop I ran, I pre-soldered power switches onto the ESCs and some pre-crimped 2 way cables with male DuPont connectors to the motors (these came double ended - I cut them in half). Past experience has shown that soldering eats a lot of time in this sort of event and the soldering involved is too basic for people who are interested in learning and too error prone for complete beginners.

I lent people batteries and FS-i4x or FS-i6 transmitters, with anyone who was interested being pointed in the right direction go get their own supplies later.
