Hercules (v1) and geared drive parts, released to the community!

Disclaimer, I’m still working on the release package, but it’s currently in testing with a couple of early adopters.

I will be releasing all the parts for my Hercules (v1) robot with a few interchangable parts to customise it.
I’ll also be releaseing a simple build guide/photos and a BOM (bill of materials).

The parts include my printed geared wheels and N20/10 D fitting gears with multiple ratios/teeth, so you can print you own mod1 drives. you’re welcome to use these on your own robots, but if you wish to share the models yourself then please attribute them back to me.

The release should be fairly soon, early December, as we’re already testing the build pack.

Announcements to come on my FB page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575835324934

I’ll also be fleshing out this post with all the goodies shortly

so the parts and manual are now live here: Hercules (V1) Antweight (150g) combat robot by bunjatec - Thingiverse

so, a little history, it started in september 2004 with this model.

which then became this

Then evolution took over.

arriving 1 month later here:

from this point these robots were used, abused, driven and decorated

until eventually

a whole new generation was spawned..

this is where I figured this design has been fun, and pretty robust, and easy to work on.. so as I’ve moved on to the new shiny thing I should give this back to a community that has done good things for many people and help the next generation of roboteers have a go.

gotta love the picture of it lifting half of Easyshot

Hi, the orange clusterbot?
That was one of my clusters and where I developed my geared drive.
I’ve not heard of easyshot. I’m guessing they’re similar?

they’re the exact same!

except for the wheels

Those were printed tpu tyres (and the grip was rubbish compared to the silone orings)
Where did you find easyshot? as these are definately my robots. (I still have them here in my hands)

The name came from the eariler prototypes, where my daughter said that “it looks like a hercules beatle” and so Hercules became the name.

ok, found it here. Easyshot | Antweight World Series Wiki | Fandom
these are mine, and I was hosting AWS 67, I didn’t name them easyshot though..

i see, what were they named before then?

Maybe ibb and obb, or the cluster, but I don’t ever remember easyshot or a proper solid name for them..

the grab and lift can be quite strong on these

Possibly NSFW (if you’re a robot) Hercules content
